Argentina at Annecy 2023

Argentina will be present at the International Animation Film Festival of Annecy, France, and its international market (MIFA), which will run until June 17. This year, 7 productions will be in charge of showing Argentine talent to the world:

As part of the official selection, the chapter of the animated series: can I keep it, “Artur and Dropsik” which will integrate the competition “TV films in competition 4″.

The animated video clip “Siamés, all the best“, by Pablo Roldán, which will be participating in the “commissioned films in competition“. 

The animated series “Rumbos Ocultos” by Guido de Paoli, which will participate in a special program called “hidden queer desires (animation, pride and diversity)“, curated by the Argentine Patricio Plaza, who is also director of the short film “Carne de Dios“, which is also part of the “Short Films in Competition 5” as an official selection. 

Likewise, within the MIFA market will be “La mujer parecida a mí” by Ange Potier and Eleonora Comelli, which will participate in the Mifa Pitches in the “short films animation du monde” section; and where we will find the projects “Esther“, by Ezequiel Torres, and “El futuro imposible“, by Antonio Balseiro and Martín Haas, which will participate in the program “La Liga de la Animación Iberoamericana Focus @MIFA”, a special program that is integrated by the winning projects of the Animation! Pitching Sessions 2022, the winning project of the Animation! Mentoring Program for Female Creators  III edition and the short film selected by La Liga in Shortway Pixelatl.

The Argentine delegation will have a meeting place at Animation! B.41 stand, which will be at the disposal of national audiovisual companies interested in the internationalization of their audiovisual content and services. This space is located next to the stands of other Latin American delegations, forming the “Latin Quarter” of the market, a place where there will be several networking meetings between delegations and the famous “Latin Happy Hour” that aim to give visibility to Latin American productions in the market and connect the delegations of each country with each other.

The Annecy Film Festival is the most important animation festival in the world, and each edition has more than 8,000 accredited participants. Its marketplace, MIFA, is the most prestigious for professionals and companies producing content (feature films, series, shorts, formats, VR/AR, among others) and animation services.
